I don't know if anyone has any ideas:

My dad has a diesel mondeo and recently had to have new front tyres after the inside edge was found to be very badly scrubbed. The tyres were just 1year old and when the new ones were fitted he was told that the setup was fine!! Could that be correct??

we had our c-max put on a 4 wheel alignment jig after tyres were wearing unequally. only cost £60 including adjustment where necessary, well worth doing. drives much better now.

at a guess i would say too much toe-in and maybe under-inflation.

One year. But how many Miles.
I had a Mondeo130 TDCI Front tyres lasted about 35000 miles. That was 8-9 months.
Tyres were the last of my worries with that thing. Unreliable from day one, Rattle ,bang smoke. Sorry to rant but never again.

Front sub frame incorrectly aligned, is one possible answer.

Incorrectly used or incorrectly calibrated gauges is another possibility.

Also, did the person who checked the tracking jack the car up and FULLY check all the suspension for problems before checking the tracking. Most garages fail to do this then when checking tracking find a mis-alignment and charge for an adjustment when a repair might be more suitable first, but they don't repair first because they didn't find anything because they didn't check.

Oh and I did once work on a bedford midi where the tracking was thrown out by not having the front wheels balanced one the car. Just couldn't work that one out.

Could be subframe out of alignment which is common on Mondeos , lower arm bushes worn allowing tracking to float about or tracking checked after jacking the car up and not driving the car to settle the suspension as well as all of the other suggestions . Tyres wearing on the inner edges suggests the tracking is "toeing out" not in .
