Courier to Ireland

Following my thread the other day I have been looking at various companies to get quotes for sending a pair of seats to Dublin. Based on the weight (16kg or so) and size (I have worked out I could get them into a package 90x80x45cm), Parcelforce want about £110; Parcel2go and Interparcel's websites said they couldn't quote "because the package is too big and/or heavy" - WTF??? It seems that they work out the total volume then arbitrarily assign a weight to the package, then say it's too heavy! They work it out at 54kg.

So... anyone any ideas for getting a reasonable price for sending seats to Ireland?

TIA

Simon

ok simon i'm on the case, i've given the dimensions and weight to mrs bob and she will get a price from her courier company at heathrow who send to Dublin daily.

Edit to say the dimensions given do work out correct as 54kgs the wife tells me you are paying for the space in the box (air) she will get the best price possible assuming you can get the parcel to us.

also is the address dublin as in county dublin or dublin with numbers after it, this evidently makes a difference and there must be a phone/mobile number at delivery address.

Cheers Bob. I think it is a Dublin (as in city limits) place.

Thanks - maybe we should do future correspondence by email/U2U to avoid clogging up the forum?
