Its alive !
After more than a few hiccups over the last three days , I got my car started today - with the `new` 2.5 Probe V6 in
The first problem was that the spigot bearing had pulled out of the flywheel , damaging both the flywheel and clutch plate - new plate for £15 , and a
couple of hours on the lathe to machine a bolt-in carrier for the bearing had that sorted .
I figured it had been caused by the gearbox not being centered on the crank - I found a mistake on my notes from when I made the adapter plate - so a
couple of offset dowels were turned to sort that out .
And it is totally rattle free now
I did get caught out by something I was not expecting - the 1.8 and 2.5 have the front pulley key-way in different positions , so the timing was too
far out to run (lots of pops and flames from the TB's )
I hope to sort that out properly tomorrow , but now I'm `resting` in front of the fire trying to get warm !
Its cuz I is blond , innit
Claire xx
Will weld for food......

Woo Hoo !!
The engine looks fantastic.
My car is probably the same shade as yours, so a yellow cam cover sound like a great idea. Might just go for that
