Anyone who hasn't had this year's flu yet ought to ring their local surgery and find out of they have any flu vaccine left. Some people
get it free, I had to pay £13. Cheap at ten times the price

I started Christmas eve, managed through Xmas day but hit me hard about 7pm, laid out until yesterday. Still feel badly, aches and pains, really tight
chest.

sorry to say this but i had about 12 days of being ill. Started off as one thing, i thought i was just about better and then it came back a bit
different (so it could have been two things).
Still coughing up this really thick goop a week after i was better, but its much better than when i started coughing up blood 8 or 9 days in.

Just tried to drink loads and taking lemsips max. I have tried to eat and drink fruit stuff to get my vit c level up.
The chest pain was intense although now subsiding.
The wife however has had the same but without the temperature that I had. She has been to docs this morning and it is Broncitis so she has walked away
with £7.10's worth of antibiotics.

Its winter, there's always grotty stuff like this going round. This year is only different in terms of a bit more influenza than normal. Other
than that it's just the same old same old. Last year there was so much rubbish on TV and in toilet paper like the Mail about this PANDEMIC of
winter vomiting virus. Infact, stats show there wasn't a significantly higher number of cases over the winter than normal....
In the same way that we remember previous years as sunnier than this one (when statistics show that this year was average re sunshine), we always
think that this year there's more lurgy going round than previously.
Occasionally it's true Think black death etc etc etc.....
On the other hand, bad luck, it still sucks to be unwell

My wife is pretty senior in the NHS, and they are gearing up for a pandemic.
One will hit sooner or later. Its only natural that a stinker will kill quite a lot one year.
THis isn't a pandemic though, nor was last year - I agree that the media stir things up unnessisarily.
on the original question, I have had the bug - don't think its proper flu - just a nasty cold. Was in bed for 3 days, and still coughing at 2
weeks on. Its the nasty coughing fits, where i feel I can't breath that I dislike the most.
My son got over it in a few days. Resilient little bugger!

i had it properly for 3 days, but the blocked nose has taken a while to subside. It has been quite bad, i dont normally bother with medication for any
simple ailment but i resorted to a few lemsips and even decongestants! Still would only call it a cold though, any less and i wouldnt have even
noticed i had it.

I copped for it Christmas Eve, perfect timing, been taking Lemsip Max just to try and keep the headache at bay. As mentioned its the coughing and
chestiness that's most annoying. Since I've had it a week I'm hoping it won't last much longer.

Folks if you've got money to burn by lemsips.
If you haven't read the back of the packet. somewhere it will say "Active Ingredients" (it has to legally if its a medicine). Then
look at the cheapo brands, the supermarket versions etc, find one of the same or more of the active ingredient and ......... buy that. You'll
save pounds for a few seconds work.

ah, but that lovely blackberry flavour If you do pick another brand, make sure it still has the decongestants in it!

I've just got a bad cold. Lemsip, Quality Street and sky seems to be sorting it. Should hopefully be done by tomorrow. Had it since saturday and
its really starting to get old.

tylenol cold and flu.
No idea if it doesn anything to the flu, but the amphetamines make you feel pretty good
I seem to catch every bug that goes around. Could have something to do with not sleeping for about 3yrs.
Currently finishing off a gastric flu. Been home since the 19th and I am BORED (and hurting from not moving around enough).
Anyhow, hope all you sickos get better quick.
