hi all, not sure if this is not the right place to ask, but i am going to machine mart vat free day and wondering if they have not got the item i want in stock, can they order it for me and do i get it at the vat free price?

yep, They ordered a tool box for me vat free once.

Thursday night and sunday at my local store, but it says invitation only, not sure if theyll just let people in anyway

My understanding is as long as your money goes through their till during the appropriate "VAT free/discount period" you collect the stuff later at cheaper rate.
The Carlisle depot is running at similar times to Chris M, we quite often buy stuff for work ( and leisure ) there - you are alowed to bring guests so you should be able to blag your way in - in current climate it is most unlikely that they'll be knocking anyone back if they havea pound in their pocket
