Seasick Steve

Been hearing about this guy for a while and recently picked up his album...

"I Started Out With Nothing And I Still Got Most Of It Left"

Brilliant - well worth a listen if you like crusty old southern fellas playin' blues and singin' bout' nothin' much at all

I used to work in a CD library and we rated seasick steve highly! I saw him live at latitude too, great sound and he tells stories in between his songs!

Also he has a one string guitar that he made himself. Very locost and VERY cool.

Saw him on tv, very good. Apparently he's still after the guy that sold him that guitar. to get his money back

I think that's a good album, did you get the standard or the extended special edition? I personally prefer his previous album 'Dog House Music'.

My bro also has some of his earlier stuff when he played with 'The level Devils' which he says is better still, but I can't comment on that as I haven't got round to listening to that yet.

Not sure if I have the special version although the last track is an 11 min ramble about a time he decided to live in a shack in the woods.

Might have to lok up some Level Devils too

yeah you've got the standard version, the extended one has a 'bonus' cd, but you have to really enjoy his stories for it to be worth getting that! Only a few extra songs (although good ones) and a lot more rambling - about 20 minutes more!

I saw him Live in Brighton a few months back as the Father in Law had heard a few of his songs and liked them, so thought I'd go along to hear for myself. I had heard a few snippets before we went, but live he was really really good.

Real stories in the songs too, you can tell they are all written on genuine life experiences.
