€69k does (not that I have it) seem quite reasonable too. How much is a standard Exige...? circa £40k...?

Noooo! What u want is a lighter & more powerful elise/exige .
Elises have been getting heavier - not sure if they've passed then 1 ton mark yet.
I think Gordon Murray (We are not worthy) wrote that he wished he'd made a lighter (well under a ton), less powerful (400HPish) McLaren F1.

Early Elises are <£6K add Turbo Hayabusa and wahey!
