credit crunch but the cars seem to be selling?
Looking at the BECs and kitcar market on PH, and as long as the cars are below £7k they seem to be selling pretty well at the moment.
Just an observation

If you look at Ebay, Karts, rally cars etc all seem to be fetching really good money.
Strange!

Fesycresy and I had this conversation just this week. I think our conclusion is pretty sensible.
While employment reaches 2m, and may rise to 3m, those that remain employed, and are not reliant on overtime payments etc could find thenselves with
much more disposable income.
Interest rates are close to zero which means that everyone on a tracker mortgage is much better off than say September last year.. Pump fuel is also
25-30% cheaper. General inflation is nearing zero also and many household items are getting cheaper. Hence the lucky ones have considerably more cash
on a month-to-month basis than they did and so may choose to buy more luxury goods, like kit-cars.
There's one other thing to throw in the mix. With the weakening of Sterling people may choose not to holiday abroad (£5-6 a pint anyone?) and
may choose to maximise their 'utility' by moving holiday funds into other domestic goods, such as kit cars.

Tim,
You car sold so quickly, it was well priced a bargain for someone with the time, but also I think you did ok out of it considering the"
apparent" market.
Bike sales are up, but there are some massive bargains to tempt you, I went into streetbike last weekn brand new gsxr1000 £7700 and 4 years 0%. Our
local landrover dealer has just had its best january for years!

It's going to be really hard to get BECs through IVA, so I suspect that prices for SVA-ed examples will start to increase substantially.

Why is getting a BEC through IVA going to be really hard? It's not difficult to fit some kind of reverse and a much larger silencer for the
reduction in noise.
Don't get me wrong, I hope it does increase the second hand value of BEC's but I don't think it will.

I just think that the noise limits are going to be hard to achieve - but that's probably just me being bitter after failing my SVA with 106.7dB

I wouldn't disagree with any of that.

Youve hit the nail on the head there; to be honest thats pretty much me, in a good job, earning decent money (for my age) and although im on fixed
rate mortgage, some other costs are reduced ie fuel and while i am still in employment, i have spare money to "waste" on my car. Plus i
doubt ill go on holiday this year (abroad anyway) due to the £vsEuro, like you say £5/pint gets bloody expensive every night for two weeks!
