Spray foam roof insulation for garage?
I am thinking about getting the pitched slate roof of my garages sprayed with the Polyurethane spray foam stuff to get it insulated properly, as it
aint warm and I dont fancy any bits of tiles dropping onto my kitcar!!
has anyone on here had there roof's done, any pros and cons? any firms they can reccommend in the west Mids area, and what sort of price would
it be??

could you not use kingspan insulation between the rafters? its high density with good insulation values, and you cut it with a saw and could
therefore do it yourself.

There have been reports (Watchdog IIRC) suggesting that sprayed on foam can sometimes push tiles out of place and damage the roof. The foam then makes
repair very difficult.

Second that. PITA to replace tiles or work on the roof after.
Probably the best insulation there is though - no gaps whatsoever! Also as it's closed cell I think it's very unlikely to encourage
timber rot like other insulations can sometimes.

Great stuff.
Though it can shuffle the tiles/slates a touch, it is also waterproof and glues them on! Wouldn't like to then have to replace one but you
shouldn't have to.
You can get diy kits, will post info if I can find it.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
