Digital camera recommendations
I have an aging Minolta Z2 which needs replacing, I want to pay a max of about £250 and have narrowed it own to the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28, the
Fijifilm S9600, the Fujifilm S2000HD.
The S9600 doesn’t had HD video, but seems the best apart from that, the FZ28 seems the best all rounder, and the S2000 is the best value for money.
Has anyone had hands on experience of these, or got any recommendations that I have missed.
I would prefer AA batteries, SD card memory, HD video, but not essential if the best camera does not have these features

I had a Panasonic TZ5 (until it got stolen). 
Was a brilliant little camera, which took fantastic photos.
Am on the look out for a replacement myself so will be interested in any feedback on the Lumix DMCFZ28.

Canon were generally regarding as producing the best sensors when I was into photography (I lost interest a couple of years back). For little cameras
I like the olympus mju series, they are semi-weatherproof, toughened and take good quality pics. Can't remember th emodel number but the one we
bought my mum had an image stabiliser as well.

I have a Fuji FinePix S6500 - not quite the model you were looking at but I can say that it, and my compact Fuji, take good pictures and are easy to
use.
They also have good software in the camera and for the PC, far better than I have seen for some other makes.

I did look at this one, but it is only 6mp needs different lenses for full zoom - The ones I have been looking at are 10mp+ and have 15-18x zooms on a
fixed lens

The panasonic/lumix are excellent cameras. I have a TZ5 compact. The Leica lens is brilliant too.

Dont just go for Mega-quantum-zillion pixel count... the Japs are playing the numbers game again!!! It's the lens which will ultimately decide
how good a quality the pictures are...
Leica, Zeiss are excellent lenses... as are Canon and Nikon... I've always found Olympus an excellent camera... go to some online review sites
and research as much as you can by actual users.

Don't forget to play with the cameras in Jessops, or a Dixons group store, make sure you get on with the interface, and that it's not
impossible for you to hit 1 button at a time.
Then buy it online, and save 50 quid.

Depending what you're likely to use it for check the figures for shutter lag.
My wife had a Fuji Finepix (can't remember the number) and as we've got young kids, we wanted to take "action" shots, but the
lag was so bad that we missed almost everything.
We've since replaced it with a Sony which is much faster and in fact nearly as fast as my Canon DSLR.

Not being very professional I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ5.
Superb close ups and excellent results in the dark, I was miles away from this ultimate rocker....
Depends if you want a paparazzi busting SLR or an occasional home jobbie..

Sony Alpha 350 DSLR as it does live view on the screen and takes minolta lenses
Will work as a point and shoot or a great SRL
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

I bought the sony A350 yesterday takes great pictures straight from the box. the camera will take about 750 pics on a 4gb card and about the same on a
full battery.
