Bloody Freeserve!

I took up the offer of a months trialwith the option of cancelling at any time in that month as I was on their anytime service. 2 days after they connected me they dropped the price to £15.99 for the first three months. I rang them up and they said as I was already connected I didn't qualify for the offer. I found another supplier at a lower price and asked freeserve to cancel me on the 2nd Feb and they said it would take 10 working days. I rang back when I was not disconnected and they said the 30 day trial had to run out but they had disabled my password so I couldn't use it anyway. The 30 day period ran out on the 18th Feb so I rang them again. They gave me a cease date of 22nd Feb. 23rd Feb I rang them again and they say now that the cease date is when they apply to BT to cancel the line and it will be 2nd March when it is disconnected. Meanwhile I cannot have a broadband connection and have signed up to a different anytime supplier for a month. At the moment Freeserve are not my favourite people.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I'm getting good service from PlusNet

If you decide to go for them, tell them I sent you - my monthly fee goes down each time I recommend a new subscriber!

I've heard good things about Bulldog. 512k during the day (9-5) then 2Mbit evenings and weekends for £30!

Failing that, I still have a (paid for) dialup account with Demon who have always been very good. Have been with them since the beginning (when I had to dial a number in Cambridge to connect!)

The wife's picking this time. She's going for freedom2surf, f2s. They get decent reviews on the adsl guide so we'll see.
