Fitting something other than a radio into a radio slot
A strange one this!
I want to mount my data logger into a tintop. The plan is to take the radio out (standard slot) and fit the datalogger in its space, using a standard
spare socket for the wiring into the plug for the radio.
I'm trying to think of a way of doing this easily and in a way that I can swap back and forward easily.
I was thinking of getting an old radio, stripping out the innards and mounting the datalogger inside. I don't have an old radio though!
Any thoughts?

is the data logger just a box of electronics? just mount it up behind the dash somewhere, use a standard car stereo plug to connect up the power only,
and you can get a radio blanking plate from halfords to cover up the empty space from the radio

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I have a flat screen Sony stereo that may or may not be working that I CBA to look at - it's yours if you want it?

Thanks guys - the logger needs to be accessible - to access the buttons and get the data cards out.
It needs to be horizontal and ideally in the middle of the car.

ah, well have a look at the halfords blanking plates, coz you could easily cut a hole in it and mount the data logger in it.
