And where does their Govt money come from? AFAIR, the Westminster administration provides a substantial wadge for the Holyrood lot to use as they
wish.

scotland is part of great britain, you dont have a choice about that just like us in Yorkshie (note my first capital letter there ) have no choice
about going it alone. Hence its not scottish oil, it GB oil.

From the linked article-
"Scotland's dreadful housing, unemployment, drugs; drink and health problems have deliberately never been addressed in an attempt to keep
our population drugged, drunk, unhealthy and poor."
It's not the government's fault if people drink, take drugs or feck up their own environment, that's down to the people themselves.

I totally agree, I get really p*ssed off with government - but particularly with the scottish govt. I pay an absolute fortune to go to uni in the hope
that I can get a decent job, scottish universities are payed for by british taxpayers - why aren't british universities payed for by british
taxpayers or scottish universities payed for by scottish taxpayers? Or all universities being payed for by the students?
I have yet to meet a scottish person that I like, not saying that decent scottish people don't exist - just that I haven't met any.

A somewhat racist comment maybe, we might have to wonder what the Scottish Scots (not the immigrants) is if they really want to be part of GB-plc, and
as said Gordon Brown seems a true Scottish patriot, in the fact that he is destroying the country, what better a way to do so than being an enemy from
within, a true double agent

Keep it clean guys. This is what nationalism does - it makes devisions amongst people, for me rabid nationalism ranks along side fascism.

i know what tom means about miserable scots, you get the feeling they all hate us. Fortunately through this site ive chatted with some very nice
scots, and also calvinx. Its important to remember there are idiots everywhere and the distribution follows no physical boundaries.
Except in parliament, which seems to have more than its fair share

there's probably more english folk that feel the same about the scots (seeing as less than about 10% of the population live in scotland)

I remember Andrew Marr (I Scot, you'll recall) looking at the financing of an independent Scotland. He concluded after much research that the
amount that the UK subsidises Scotland is about as much as the highest year's revenue of North Sea oil. North Sea oil production peaked a few
years ago (independant data from Arup) and will only ever go down. With the best will in the world, Scotland will be poorer as an independent nation
and will continue to get poorer. If they really want independence that much, let them. Personally I think we're stronger as a United Kingdom
than as independent parts but If they want to go their own way ...
