Kia sorento

I have spoken to several owners and all say the best car they have had.

Use, Mrs to drive most of time, will also tow caravan & horse box, (not at same time)

I'm past the time of life where the badge on the grill is a problem to me, what other cars should we be looking at ?

I'm struggling to find similar spec car with same reliability record, mpg and so many rave reviews, particularly as a tow car ?

my dad has one - great tow car and excellent value for money.

It may not be just quite as good as say a new freelander to drive, but it isn't far off and it's approaching half the price and is much more reliable.

Coincidently I was looking at my mates 56 plate one today.

Nice motor, great for towing I'm told- he's getting about 36mpg and correct me if I'm wrong but don't they have 7 years parts and labour warranty ?

Agian coincidentally my dad was looking at these last week. I've been reading around and the only complaint I can find is the dire after sales servicing. Everything else has come out tops and like somebody commented about security, who's likely to steal a Kia? Sounds like a win-win to me.

I've read that the Sorento is a bit on the gutless side when it comes to pulling, you could look at something like Nissan XTrail for similar money. My old Sportage has been no trouble to keep over the last 18 months though, you pays your money as the saying goes.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

must admit that 36 mpg and towing potential on low budget are not easy.

My low budget tow truck is my Mitsubishi Shogun 2.8td but you can knock 10mpg off that figure, seems to do about 28 mpg average, though it makes no odds towing or not!

1997 truck for £1000 seems decent value though!

Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion retro car restoration and tuning

That's exactly what my mate had before the Kia and it was the reason he changed.
Shogun\Pajero is a good motor though.

With nearly 400lb/ft torque, safe to say that what you read isnt very accurate (unless you meant for pulling........the ladies?? lol)

For the price, they have to be a great choice. I'd have to buy nearly new though as the 1st year depreciation looks to be pretty hefty.

The review said the accelerator felt like it wasn't connected to the engine, not the caravan type pulling capacity. Honest John does say it should be popular with the ladies though. They give it a 33.2mpg consumption figure for the 2.5CRD manual.

I spent a month driving a Kia Sedona with 80,000+ miles on the clock I was quite impressed with it. The only thing really wrong with it was the cheap interior trim ---- newer ones are better i this respect

It had the 2.9 turbo diesel fuel consumption was very good for such a large and heavy vehicle.
