Getting an ebay car from Bolton to Leicester ?

I'm thinking of buying this - but the big problem is , how can I get it home if I manage to win it ?
I dont have anything that will pull a trailer , as well as not having a trailer.......
Any ideas (before I go and bid ?)

Is it not feasible to turn up with a stihl saw and have the lump out on the driveway ?

Leaves the seller with £50 or more worth of scrap on the drive too...

Assuming you're gonna break it that is

Alternatively, you could ask for a quote on Shiply .

Plan B it is then

I'd ask the seller whereabouts in Bolton it is first and be tempted to judge the car on that. There's some right dives around here and the rubbish photo's ain't helping.

Ah Great Lever! I know it well. I lived around the corner for 16 years. It's about 60/40 against. A rough area. The area across the road is known as concrete city and is riddled with drugs and the streets where you pointed are a mix of olds and lazy council sh1tes. In all honesty, me personally, I would shy away and suspect something that's not been told.

TBH, the last three 164s I've bought were all runners. They looked a lot better than that one and cost £85, £95 and £125! Just keep looking and I'm sure you'll find a better one closer to home. That one will never get a bid unless the guy has his mates bidding!

He says it has to go because of the credit crunch.. whats that and how does it affect a banger sitting on your drive?

Anyway I could help with my tow bar and trailer if you weren't MILES'm away!

I'll be in Leicester tomorrow as well btw

Where do you find them ? I've been looking for about three years , all I have seen is prices going up...........
Plus nearly all those for sale have been 24 valve , which I dont want (I've had two of these and love the motor)

I've bought mine through Ebay but there were two on Autotrader last month in the Midlands. One at a dealers for £600ono and the other a private sale for £400. Both with a bit of t and t although I can't remember how much t and t! Obviously beware if they don't state if they are auto or manual..........

It always amazes me that they leave the car stood on flat tyres for the photos, sure sign it's been stood for ages and the brakes will be stuck when you come to load it on a trailer

I won it , and will be going to have a good look at it Saturday morning (with Alex-Omega0684) so if it does turn out to be a total shed I will have some back-up when I tell him to stick it where the sun dont shine
I'm working on the theory that at £250 I wont lose on it even if it does need some work to get it MOT`d . Having owned 3 of these I know my way around them !
I know it needs an exhaust - I have a front section in my junk-pile , and loads of tube as well as few box's
I broke one a few years ago , so there's still plenty of bit's in the shed......
