Aircon rant
What is it about A/C on cars theses days. Why can't I have a car where it works for any length of time
My old Rover - the aircon packed in.
SWMBOs Renault - the aircon packed in.
My old Mondeo - the aircon packed in.
Father-in-laws Galaxy - the aircon packed in - got it fixed, and it packed in again.
And now, my Jag that I've had for a whole month - guess what
Was working fine yesterday and this morning. I then started it up to go to the shops - not blowing cold
Is it just me, or does everyone get this

Nope, all my cars aircon have worked perfectly.
Even the air conditioning in my house works pretty damn well.
Guess what I do for a living ?

I'm guessing it's something to do with A/C, but does that just mean that the car A/C works perfectly because you are able to fix it when
it goes wrong (which is all the time)

I bought my Spotage last year and the aircon didn't work so I took it to the local garage where they drained and refilled it and it's
worked ever since. I use it in winter to clear the screen and it gets an airing weekly which is why I think a lot of them fail. through lack of use.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Mine's never worked on my omega. Got it filled with the dye leak detector last year. Worked for a day then all pissed out. Never got round to
getting back to the aircon place to find out where it leaked from! Doh. May repeat this year.

My Father-in-law has always done this too, but he's still had repeated problems

Don't rub it in - I'd hoped to get my locost on the road this summer, but it's not going to happen now

MIne works perfect. Lovely and cold. Although the pump is knackered and hammers the engine when its really hot but still works.
They need to be used every week and not all the time. Alot of them cock up because when theyr gassed theres not enough/too much oil put in the
system.

I think I see your problem:
Rover, Renault, Ford, Ford, Jaguar.
You need a Japanese car, and then it'll work all the time. I've got a Mazda (which is 33% Ford admittedly) and the A/C has worked fine
for 5 years now without a refill.
Just my 2p worth.

My wife's Daewoo Matiz is 9 or 10 years old, but the aircon still works - you get frostbite if you're not careful.
However, the car loses 25% of its power when you turn it on!

How old were the various cars when the AC stopped working? And what was the problem in each case? The gas constantly leaks out of AC systems, so if
not serviced regularly they will stop working at some point.
