Info wanted about mains electric motors
Hi All my elc/ motor has had it on my compresser its a single phase 2.2kw
2800rpm
I have found a motor that has 1.4 hp no it will this be any good for the job

you sure its had it, it may just be the capacitor thats mounted on the side of it ?

2.2Kw = 3Hp

2.2 Kw is equivalent to 3.0 HP so you would probably not get enough power with the new motor.

Hi Dave yes its had it the windings think that's right have melted together
