Audi A4 3.0ltr V6 - engine problem?
Hi,
Just started to have starting problems on my 52 plate one. Turn key and it fires then dies. Up to 4 times before it starts. (its the auto version)
Now on way back home it went really noisy (as if exhaust had blown right off or something.)
Cant see anything amiss but the power is right down. Running on 4 cyclinders?
Any ideas folks please.
Time for a change!

I know nothing about these engines but if it runs wasted spark then you will have three coil packs, lose one and two cylinders will die which could be
your problem.
Thats it from me I am afraid.

I have an older A4 and have found this site to be helpful.
The great thing about modern cars is that they are so reliable, but also that the faults are common between the cars.
Wierd that it hasn't shown up on the code reader. I guess it indicates something that is difficult to measure, fuel filter blockage, injectors
blocked. (just guessing)
Good luck,
Matt

I had a problem on my V6 Galaxy (VR6 engine) and had to get a main dealer to use there fault code diagnostics, found a problem with the MAFF and a
thermostat problem.
Car will run without MAFF but not well, thermostat problem caused sensor to read high and effect fuel delivery, smoked like a diesel

If its not a proper vag diagnositic then not all codes will show up. They can be a bit funny on the generic ones.
