I have a work neighbour who has an S4 that he gets serviced at a small garage, which he highly recommends over the Audi/Porsche dealer. So maybe they don't have to cost the earth after all. My A4 Avant just ran out of warranty, so I can't lose sight of this guy!

Called dealer, they appologised and told me to ring VW assistance who would come and recover it to the dealership. They've also arranged a courtesy car which arrived before the audi was recovered (vauxhall astra). Service has been good but still pished off with the car going wrong so soon..

Sounds like JCT600 are trying to save money as when my old Porche was in for a service they gave me a brand new one to run around in for a couple of days .

never been a big fan of vauxhall to be honest but the 1.8 astra seems quite spritely (not driven a petrol car properly for a good few years now.. Nice to have some rev's back and the brakes are keener than my mondeo's ever were....

but it's still not my audi lol..

Anywho, just glad to have transport and that it's back at the dealers getting fixed, on monday, so all should be well. Only problem is I'm working away monday to thursday next week so if it's ready for collection in the meantime they'll have to hang onto it for me

Yeah to be fair you'll always get one that goes wrong, and I've recently come to the conclusion that the company being nice about it is really important. O2 have had awful internet service but at least when you phone up they're giving a cr@p

Maybe as simple as a boost pipe coming off. I know earlier VAGs were prone to this as the clip assembly they use is steel on ally, the ally nipple gets worn away and the pipes just part company.

Generally happens if they've not been re-assembled correctly after a service.

It'll all be OK, damn nice cars

aye they said "we will try and find another audi for you as we have a uk fleet which act as courtesy cars for this kind of thing".... then they rang later and said "unfortunately we didn't have any audi's spare so we're getting a car in from national car rental, it'll be a similar sized hatchback but we won't know which one until it arrives with you"....

so had a wee bit of fun playing rental car rally yesterday

unfortunately VW workshop is closed til early tomorra morning so won't know the score until they ring me (or I ring them... more likely me thinks). Will report back once I know the score, just glad I've got a courtesy car and the whole thing is covered by a 30 day guarantee from the dealership & manufacturers warranty for another year
