In an attempt to make it slightly more appealing, I bought my missus the "Hetty" which is the pink, female version of the Henry. She seems happy enough with it (and she can be picky!)

Our Dyson (not an upright) has been going for 5 years and still sucks as well as the first day. Had plenty of plaster dust etc through it over the years and gets bashed around frequently.

Wonder if there is a difference between Uk and Malaysian built machines? Could explain the fairly wide gulf of experiences people are reporting.

Also they really don't like water, suck it up really well but it kills them. I remember the instructions mentioning it specifically so I think it's likely to be a common killer of them.

get an Henry top hover ..... as Russell Brand said they say I'm sick for having sex with a hoover .... I'm not the one that drew a face on it ..... don't look at me like that Henry i feel guilty enogh
