It looks great.. I toyed with a similar idea using an RG frame and DR750 engine..
Have fun!

Pretty sure its an ex Supermono bike. Not been used for a few year. Current supermonos are all bespoke Harris and the like with supertuned supermoto engines.

Should be good fun on the road, it has that earth shaking thunderbike sound

my supermono was a Harris Rotax 640cc supermono, 68bhp at the wheel, doesn,t sound much but it only weighed 122kgs.

like you say they have an amazing sound, goes right thru your chest when you rev the wotsits off it

that,ll be an awsome roadbike, even more envious now.

I'll bring it down in 2 years time when I get it sorted and you can have a go

Not sure it'll have much poke with a KLR motor though, any experience of these Andy? With 680 cc it must have a big bore kit on it?

oooh yes please

i,ve never ridden a race bike with that motor but have raced against them, & i assure you they are plenty quick enough.
they were regarded within the series as slightly less power than rotax,s but alot more reliable than the yamaha SZR motors ( they used to split their crankcases & chuck oil everywhere,) not so with the KLR motors, it was a choice of high power engine that were fragile or a lower powered but more reliable engine , as the saying goes "to finish first you first have to finish"

would love a go on your bike someday, it also has a great little chassis too.

bit of useless info for you....... i finished 3rd overall in a national championship season using my Harris, 52.1 seconds lap time around Mallory with the bus stop chicane ( before they put all the micky mouse new corners in to slow us down:mad lap record was 48.8 by Chris Walker.

ohh happy days

have fun
andy

forgot to say.... yes it has the big bore kit on it, keep an eye on the plug gap, not too wide or it,ll lose power.

grrrrreen with envy.
I was only last night reading a piece in classic mechanics about a kr1s and thinking how well a big single would go into it.
I used to race a 450 ducati and loved the noise.
Denis.

Where did that go?

Picked it up today I must say I'm impressed.. not been race in anger for a while but still wearing Dunlop intermediates and the like, fully equipped for some track action. All lockwired and light as a feather!

A bit of general recommissioning and a friendly mot tester and I should be out and about before the summer ends!
