OT: Removing Corsa C sound deadening

Long shot but I'm waiting to be given authorisation to post on the Corsa-C fora (God help me.)

I recently bought a Corsavan from work to run around in. I found yesterday that the carpet and sound deadening is soaking and rotting. I managed to get the carpet out (not as easy as on old cars!) but am left with the deadening that goes behind the dash. Any experience here? I suppose the whole bloody dash is on its way out. I'm waiting for my 2nd hand Haynes to arrive in the post too..

Doubt you really need to as the heat from the engine should dry it out. I think like you say the dash is fitted afterwards so have a look up underneath and see how far it goes. Most likely it’s a faulty door seal so perhaps the sound deadening isn't even wet much further up. Missy’s old Corsa’s ones were forever falling off
