Any gardeners?
Just got back from Benidorm to find all my tomato plants ruined by blight.
Anyway they are all in the bin now and I'm wondering about ensuring the greenhouse is sterilised.
ATM I still have 3 cucumber plants and a grapevine over head.
Any advise?

tom,s have all gone the same way this year and are rotting on the vine

We got blight last year. It looked like we had it this year, but the Toms all look great. Not sure there is much you can do to prevent it hanging
about - buy blight resistant varieties next year!

Steve, i have just called my father and he says that lack of ventilation causes blight.Use jeyes fluid in diluted form and spray all over the
greenhouse.leave for 1 hour then rinse away with clean water.He says that the vine and cucumbers will be fine as jeyes wont harm them when diluted,but
protect them as much as possible with plastic bags.That will sterilise and clear it up.

What about bordeaux mixture for prevention? I usually use it on my toms and have never had a bad outbreak of blight (few leaves get clobbered but
that's about it). On my allotment everyones got blight and my tatties are dying off. The only person who hasn't got blight on their toms
is using bordeaux mixture.
In my garden I never used it until mid August but I guess either this year has been very bad or the higher number of plants on the allotment has made
it a bigger target for blight.
Not sure if you can use BM in the g'house though, can't see why not- perhaps an option for next year. IIRC Jeyes mixture and a scrubbing
brush is the preventative method of for sterilisation. I'd also stick any soil or grow-bags in a big old bucket of water for six months. The
resulting slime will kill off any spores with any luck (though when I strained off the compost I'd stick it on the brassica bed)....

nothing much you can do this year but next year as said use the bordeaux mixture which is a copper oxide formula.
A "locost" solution is to use a piece of low vibration (i.e. single strand) house hold wire, about 1.5mm, and pass it through the base of
the plant in the stem. This will give the plant copper oxide (as ^^^) and will stay around even when it rains on the outdoor tomatoes.
