I bought one for 99p off ebay.

It subsequently went into another Locostbuilders car and he passed SVA and used the engine for a year after that.

Paid £52 for a whole 1994 Escort with a 1.8 silvertop engine 105 bhp version with 40,000 miles on it. Car failed MOT on chassis rust - good engine though.

Now fitted 2.0 cams and makes good power to 7000rpm..

I bought a 130ps 1.8 for £40, then sold a couple of unneeded bits off it for £50-odd. So my engine owes me -£15

1994 (silvertop) 1.8 for £26, it's still sat waiting to be fiddled with but I've picked up some 2.0 cams, injectors & a 2.0 maf, just need a 2.0 ecu and it'll be running to rs1800 spec (130bhp)... It all sounds so simple

Might end up running it off bike carbs with the 2.0 cams & megajolt if possible/easier to setup..
