tin top brake pads

on holiday last week and got horrendous squealing from front brakes...

closer inspection and pads looked very low, checked with manual and incredibly my 07 Civic apparenly has the old 'squeal rivet' instead of a warning light! havent had a car like that in years!

whats more worrying is that when i got the pads off they had less than .5mm left

found it quite scary that they could wear that far before they started to squeal!

replaced all 4 corners with EBC greenstuff before attempting the drive home from holiday

do you like the greenstuff pads?

I wasn't that impressed with them on my old tin-top, £50 and they wern't much better than the £20 ferodo ones

seem pretty good so far - certainly better tan the OEM ones and looking through online it would seem they are the only alternatives available for my car!

I know a few people who have been very much less then impressed with the EBC pads, infact this is what tey looked like on one of the guys at the loughborough uni motorclub after a trackday in a Audi Coupe.

I dont use the car for track days so not to worried...

BTW are you sure they are 'greenstuff' and not thier bog standard EBC black pads? wolud expect to see some of the coulor still visible....

I've had both the black's and the greens on my old tin-top, the blacks where much worse than the ferodo 'premier' pads (£20)

the greens where only a little better and looked almost as bad as that when they came out, with only a little green left on the back (and that was after 8000 miles of road use on a 1.0 pug 106 )
