wet track day tyre
With an up and coming track day, i was wondering if its worth getting some wet tyres, which ones are a good choice, im running 13's with
888's at the mo, just want to enjoy the day without thinking the cars not planted through the corners.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2 is an excellent tyre, however i think they are not made as small as 13.
The car is so planted in the wet that on the road it is my common sense that limits conering speed, unlike the originals cheap rubbish which slid at
15mph.

You can get A048s in wets nowadays. Or A021s are supposedly good if still available.
Ultimately it will be very slippy so take care out there.
You may want to try increasing the tyre pressures to open up the treads and improve water dispersal. Less contact patch but less aquaplaning.

A cut A048 will not be a huge step forward. Just ask the RGB racers who competed in the Birkett. I almost think you'd be better with
A539s.
What about Formula Renault Wets? I think the profile will be low so you'll need to consider your gearing. I have a source for these but
it's down here so might not be any good.

recently done a track day at Snetterton with some periods of very wet with standing water got track day silverstone tyres simular to R888's
which were treterious lots of others with just R888's went home early, ive got a spare set of toyo TSR1 which were good at clearing water and
controlable would say something like 539's be as good as a second set if you can take spare sets of wheels? as still get lots of dry days i
think good to have two different options if possible, CR500's whould be good if you can only take single set but expencive

Ive always found the R888's good in damp/wet conditions,better than any standard road tyres Ive tried,its just they don't like puddles of
water much,or really heavy rain,but if its raining fast you don't tend to go out in a open top car until it stops
If its just a trackday its not like your racing,it does not matter if your a few seconds a lap slower,you just need to slow down and drive to the
track conditions,and that will give us Clio's a chance to catch you up

Paul i was last one in the pits after the chequerd flag went out and it was pissing down , track was virtually empty, was having so much fun.

Hi
Look at the Kitcars and RGB 048's wett or dry. The cut 048's dont seem to offer any significant advantage over the STD 048.
Application of the right foot and a quick rack is all thats needed.
