Betelgeuse

According to the Scaly Mail, Betelgeuse may finally go pop this week, by 2012, or within the next million years

Said we'll have 2nd sun for a few weeks, which'll be nice, but forget to mention the gamma ray burst which won't be. Orion will look like it's ill and for it to happen in the next few weeks, it'll had to have to have gone pop 640 year ago.

Will make quite a spectacle though

Most scientists believe the star is far enough away from Earth that the explosion blast and various particle rays emitted will not affect us drastically (if at all).
