thought it was like instant mail, must have got that wrong somewhere?

don't think its insatant like msn, mad dave leaves me the odd bit of abuse on it which is waiting for me when i log in though, nice one Dave, see ya

Instant it is not.
Steve:get yourself a hotmail address on MSN.Download the messenger software,you can see when people are on line,chat and even use a mic.
Cheap as chips.

of course some of us have to use u2u as the work cyber police won't let us have messenger,
you just have to keep hitting the update button in the forlorn hope that the hippy will actually respond

u2u is very slow, I use msn/hotmail messenger as does Bob, its much better... with u2u, by the time i respond they have logged off!! Never mind ......

Yes, ok I'm as sad as Dave in that I stay logged in to this site when he's at work just in case he has anything interesting to report.

Guys - the U2U thing takes a few seconds to be delivered but you have to click in the u2u window and hit F5 to see if you have any new messages (or
close and re-open the window)
MSN is certainly better for 'instant' chat but you don't need a hotmail address to use it as someone suggested. You need an MSN passport (which
comes automatically with a hotmail account) but you can sign up for one with any email address.
