recommend a stag-do destination / activities

Hey up everyone!
My mate is getting married next year so we are starting to look at destinations for his stag do as well as possible activities. He is keen to avoid the regular destinations e.g. amsterdam, prague, newcastle etc so does anyone have any suggestions on alternative interesting places for a long weekend? am still open to places in the UK too...

maybe thinking along the lines of eastern europe but flights need to be reasonably priced. Obviously with the current Euro conversion rates being so poor we want to keep the costs down where possible.

want somewhere where can have a good night out with cheap(ish) alcohol but then during the day somewhere we can visit places and do activities.

and thats the next thing.... any suggestions on activities? i know there is the usual paintball, go-karting, go-ape, white-water rafting etc etc but wondered if anyone had done anything else?

with regards to budget... may be around £200 - 250 all in with flights, accomodation and activities?

cheers in advance

I went to a great stag do in Aviemore. Stayed in the top of an old country house. Went white water kayaking and paintballing, toured the brewery, great meal and cheapish beers (compared to Edinburgh prices).

me brother has just done white water rafting in Nottingham and then a meal & booze up a "hooters" in town, said he got absolutely soaked but looking at all the b00bs afterwards made the freezing water worth while!

Dublin is very expensive. Avoid

Newcastle is well sorted with drinking holes, but it's stI'll Newcastle.

And not cheap either depending where you are.

Eastern Europe with no euro ripoff, good beer and cheapish flights.

Spain, Greece , Italy etc are uber expensive.

Me , id go to krakow, Poland.

Or if the euro wAs an option, Amsterdam. Good beer and a laugh a minute

One on the radio today...

4 guys bought cheap bangers and went racing in them. Couple places in uk then ended up at the nurburgring. Cars were all stickered up and they got loads of people beeping and shouting.

Plus you can go drinking in germany

I went to Prague on mine, was unforgettable! Thursday through Monday and wasn't sober for any of it!
We went to Newcastle last year for a mates, it was alright, but it took longer to get up there than Prague (was on the train from Derby) the tickets cost more (£75 return instead of £60 flights) the beer was more, so were the women and you didn't get anywhere near the same quality of show in Newcastle for the same money as Prague
Just got back from Leeds this weekend on one too. Was good, but again expensive. I spent £150 and didn't have anything to show for it. If you spent that in Prague you'd at least come back with a rash! lol

I would also recommend Krakow in Poland, went there last year for a stag do and had an excellent time..... actually found a place where it was 60p a pint aswell so really didnt spend very much despite our hardest efforts !
