What head torch

So I've just gone on to Ebay to get a couple of head torches for an upcoming festival and there are 4070 to choose from!

So, anybody got any recommendation, just want to see my feet and not fall over anybodys tent at 3 in the morning

Have a look in Aldi. They've had both small 5 led and bigger mulit-LED ones in recent offers. They should have some left. I got one of the 5led ones a couple of years ago and it's fine for occational use.

We bought quad LED ones for a grab bag at work from Tesco's , they were about £8 each...work alright.

My own work headlight is a Petzl Tikka, small powerful bla blaa blaa...

You can spend a fortune on headlights if you want, but my little Petzl works fine.

I use a head torch a lot, on my boat, fishing, camping and I use it a lot in the workshop and working on cars. It's amazing how useful they are when you have one if you do a lot of outdoor and practice stuff.

I use a Pitzl with rechargeable batteries and the quality is very good. Worth it if you are going to use it regularly. I have a couple of cheapo ones too but the elastic head straps fail after about a year and they aren't as well made. The strap fastenings tend to break off too on the cheap ones

Edited to say: T66's link is to a great bit of kit and well worth the money! That's what I'd get if I was looking for one to do what you want!

I have a petzl.
I bought 3 more for my kids off ebay, all 'faulty' and all were generic cheap ones.
Every one had some broken wire or solder in it somewhere.
But if I were to buy another for myself it would not be a cheap chinese copy.
Spend the extra few quid and get a decent one.

I've got one of the slighly brighter Petzl ones myself and its great (when your walking on top of a mountain in the pitch dark you don't really want to skimp on the torch )

my old one was a cheap black dimond one - not very bright, but its lasted 10 years and is still going (the new ones are alot brighter than my old one)

but I've seen quite a few cheap and chearful ones that gave a decent light - some of them looked alot like the one in mookaloid's link, but I don't think they got them from ebay....

I´ve bought a few cheap ones and an LED Lenser one like this: Link.

The Lenser is much better made that the cheap ones.

I found the multi LED ones were poor but these ones 1 WATT WORKING HANDS FREE LIGHT HEADLAMP SUPPER BRIGHT | eBay are OK.

Just bought 2 of these, I know they're cheap but they'll only get used very occasionally.

Cheers chaps!

I've got one of those lenser ones. Well worth it for the money. Maplins do them cheaper than the one in the link.

We had Petzl ones for work. Utterly rubbish light, but well built and last a while. The energizer ones from B&Q are around twice as bright and I use them all the time for inspections now. Plus they are only a tenner.

These are *...king brilliant!

BLACK BASEBALL CAP HAT 5 LED LIGHTS FISHING CAMPING | eBay

I have bought everyone in the family one as I found them for only £4 each. You can wear them all the time without looking like an errant miner, and have light at the touch on a button.

Plus you have something to protect your bald patch when working on the car.

(sorry... I don't know how to do 'linky's'
