what is the bonding agent called for bonding boards to walls I have bought a bag of bonding but fear thats not right

Its called dri -wall adhesive.

You can dot and dab





Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

No it's undercoat plaster. Stuff you put on first to bring up the levels of plaster. NOT for bonding plasterboard.

You want to go to wickes and buy plasterboard adhesive in a big paper bag.

You can also use low expansion polyurethane foam. There are ones specifically for this job.

You can buy bonding compound for bonding boards to walls or there is bonding plaster for low adhesion surfaces as a basecoat before the top coat of Thistle. Which do you have?

The plasterers that I use stuck some boards on for me last week using Bonding, they just mixed it very very thick and it has set like rock. They used to used Board Finish to do this before Dry Lining Adhesive became as common as it is now.

Bondings for undercoat plastering to low suction surfaces, as Keith says its plasterboard adhesive from wickes or the nearest B&Q whorehouse is what you need.
