when I first fired my locost up I got a visit from the council a short while later!!
My elderly, and incredibly two faced, neighbour, had reported me for running it at 13:00-14:00 ish on a sunday afternoonm for maybe 5-10 mins to set
the throttle body balance up.
She never spoke to me, or even came out of the house!
the council guy was just doing his job, fair enough, he seemed to realise I wasn't a troublemaker and loeft seeming happy enough.
A couple of weeks later I had a "chat" with my neighbour, and asked why she hadn't spoken to me, and why she was spreading rumours
amongst any neighbours that would listen about how bad I was, even though she was as nice as pie to me and regularly brought cakes over, and not to
mention that I had fixed here car foc several times, plus put out a fire in her kitchen, taken here to fetch a new fridge etc etc..
Fortunately I am friendly with all the other neighbours and know exactly what she was saying to them!
She has now started complaining about my dog, even though he is only at home in the evening, with me, never barks (well, maybe once or twice,
literally in two days, and he is only a lab pup! ) and she had a dog until recently that barked every morning and night................
Nosey cow basically. Our little chat reduced her to tears, and the following day there was a big routine with an ambulance, whereupon she spouted
another, contradictory load of cobblers to the paramedics (I know as my missus was with her making sure she was ok at the time) and the medics decided
there was absolutely nothing wrong with her!
Bloody nosey old bastards with too much time on their hands cause a huge amount of neighbourly grief. If only people would just get the hell on with
it and realise that they will be dead too soon anyway, without all the time wasted complaining!
being in the line of work where i see the elderly alot, i appreciate someone like this can be a nuisance, but you have to just feel sorry for them,
they are essentially very lonely and desperate for attention to carry on like this.

Sounds to me the Rozzers were actually doing their job to me. I suppose they could have strung you up on all sorts.
I haven't turned my car over yet and I am worried about this situation.

im always quite careful with starting my car up, and the outer wall of my garage is only 3 inches from the neighbours living room wall.
always roll it out etc and have even pushed it 50m yards (they arent heavy are they) and started it away from the houses one very early morning.
last thing i want is to upset the neighbours.
so far they have always been quite happy about it and curious etc.
as a bit of balance they are late seventies early eighties and couldnt help us enough; take in parcels, feed cats often for us and didnt object when
we built a two storey extension right by their wall. so some old folk are great, but i want to keep it that way with them.

So far I can say I've not had any complaints from either neighbour about the Westy and the build. I try to make sure that I'm only doing
quiet stuff of an evening, past say 7pm- wiring, basic fastening and assembly etc. Whilst I was cutting out all the panelling I tried to do this on a
weekend around the middle of the day. All my neighbours love the thing though, next door (joined) keeps popping his head over the fence asking
'when lift-off' is going to happen, I started it up for the first time a month or so ago and all I got was people dropping by to
congratulate me on the job so far!
I try to be concious towards everyone else, have spoken to the other neighbours and said if I'm ever making too much noise or too late on they
just need to tell me and I'll stop, so far I've had no complaints. Think they're alright with me as there's a couple of lads
down the street the same age, all turn up in loud cars with sub-woofers cranked up, driving like nutters through the village, whereas I've
always been sensible and drive quietly round the village (does help acting older than you are, from time to time!). Neighbours also liked the fact
that before the Westy was rebuilt, I'd pootle out of the village quietly, then they could hear me hunting them down :-P
Consider myself lucky I have understanding neighbours...

there was one terrible time when i was taking my bec to get an exhaust made, and at about 6am i was having to rev it, with no exhaust, to get it up
onto the transit. That was a bit of a mistake
OP, your neighbour didnt come direct to you because they didnt want to fall out with you. As it is you dont know who it was and thus there is,
technically, no aminosity.
Or even, animosity!

unless the police catch you driving or have sufficient evidence (e.g video) it then they cant prove that an offence has been committed. all they can
do is give you a warning. remember if they didn't catch you in the act never incriminate yourself to admitting to the claimed offence. there
is no need to be rude, just respectfully deny the allegations made.

I too work with oldies. The issue is not that they are a sad and lonely lot, which most are, but that they try to drag the rest of us into their
world. And these dog haters are everywhere. I blame the pitbull people, who give us all a bad name.
You know, it wasn't like this in the old days. Then, you could make fun of them in public, and of course, half the time, they wouldn't
hear you. Great fun, and then there got to be so many of them. Who let them into the country anyways?

No. He would have been locked up on suspicion of assault.
I have to work within certain constraints and guidelines. Like it or not and when an allegation has been made, I'm duty bound to investigate and
in the respect of domestic assault then there really is no leaway. Remove the alleged agressor from the location for questioning.
This was only an example that sprung to mind as it only occurred less than 24 hours away. I'm afraid that you're showing your narrow view
in saying that liars always get away with it. We're under a lot of pressure and have been give a lot more discretion back to deal with false
reporting and beleieve me, it is dealt with. No one likes a lying time waster in the same way that you wouldn't appreciate it in whatever your
line of business is.
Well to be fair that's the first time I've seen anyone proven wrong with some evidence they can point to. I'm always wrong when
I'm telling the truth and have documentation/video evidence/"look out of the f**king window" to prove it...
Mind you I do feel I need to dish out a lot more slaps in those circumstances
