Computer Upgrade - Help !!

Looking to upgrade our computer upstairs

We have an AT type case at the moment and have seen some upgrade bundles from Novatech
(current processor is an old AMD 1100 one)

It needs to be able to play Sims 2 easily (so the Boss tells me) so i'll need a decent graphics card aswell please

Any help would be appreciated, I've have put a couple of PC's together before but aren't savvy with the latest spec's etc
So need some help

Thanks in advance

shouldn't need anything too fancy for that

whats your budget ?

are you looking to build it all from new bits or would you consider second hand ?

Sims 2 is ancient and would probably run fine on the built in Intel HD graphics of an i3 CPU. Probably Sims 3 would to if that's what the boss means. But for best results a dedicated graphics card should be considered - but wouldn't need to be a 'decent' one at all - less than £100 easily.

Is your case really AT (ancient) or ATX? If it's AT the case and power supply aren't going to be compatilble. Probably best to get a new case and PSU too if what you have is really old - the PSU may not be up to the damands of a modern CPU and graphics card.

I'd buy some thing like this maybe

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

http://www.novatech.co.uk/barebonebundles/

Take your pick and just add hard drive...all the ones under £200 will run Sims 2 comfortably, and most likely Sims 3 too...

Alternatively you could get a reasonable laptop for £300...

Don't forget to use quidco for that all-valuable cashback...
