Cheques and Expiry...

I've just found a cheque (payable to me ) that has the date 28-11-07 on it. I've read on the net that most banks will reject them after 6 months has passed, but that they technically remain 'legal' for 6 years.

If I was to submit it to my bank and they did put it through, would that be that... ???

PS - the issuing / receiving banks are different.

Is it from a bussiness or an individual, if an individual it might be wise to ask if they still have the funds in the account, as I wouldnt be pleased if money came out my account after 4 years I wasnt expecting!

With my experience the Bank probably wouldn't notice the date.
