Ted Kravitz confirmed to have gone now too and possibly lee mckenzie

If this deal wasnt done with sky, there wouldnt be any F1 on the BBC - they where looking at dropping it completley. ITV wouldnt be interested after the money/viewing figures they lost on it last time.

Choice

We all have a choice , I am a F1 nut , but I won't be paying Sky to watch, the less people that watch on SKY the less Sky will be interested in paying Bernie, simple we all have the power !!

It would then return to Free To Air.

WE ALL HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE IT HAPPEN - PASS IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats the problem its not sky holding to ransom!

as part of the concorde agreement reached by the F1 teams a while back, TV rights had to be sold to Free to Air Channels (BBC, ITV etc.) and the race had to be shown in full.

the BBC could no longer afford the cost of F1 and was looking to drop the whole thing. Sky wanted it but couldnt get it because of the concorde agreements

bbc and sky did the deal and bernie approved it, if we didnt have this we would have no f1 - or sky would have it and it would have been on skysports 1 at £40+ per month

sky have dedicated a full channel to it, improved the level of coverage - they lead the way on technology side of football broadcasting, hopefully they can bring us something extra to the F1 - and at no extra cost to current subscribers

dont get me wrong I think the whole thing is a damn shame as im probably going to watch it on sky now as I would prefer watching one set of coverage, I just wish JH,DC and EJ would go too or atleast be shared/simulcast
