Every time "Dave" Cameron opens his mouth on the subject it drivers Scottish voters towards the welcoming arms of Alex Salmond.
As with his dealings with the Eurozone he should learn make his point in a way that dosen't put the backs up of those who are neutral or undecided.

He should also learn not to included Tory party donors including Gerald Ronson, who was jailed for his part in the Guinness share-trading scandal.

Salmond is licking his lips because he knows he can eat David, Nick and Ed for breakfast every day of the week (and they know it too... they're visibly terrified of debating with the man!).

Say what you like about him, but he's a (political) force to be reckoned with.

Cameron walked right into the most obvious trap the other day... real schoolboy stuff! The fact that a complete clown like 'Dave' is the PM (and 'Ed' is the alternative) worries me more than Salmond winning his war!

Ignoring the politics behind who's playing what game, I don't know many scots in favour of complete separation. I'm not sure where I sit, I live here and have for a few years now, but I'm not sure whether it's a good idea for either party.

i don't think salmonds worked out what he's going to do if (and i'm actually really scared of if he does) he gets his way...
so far all i've heard from him is it'll be better for scotland. not actually heard HOW its better...

council tax has been frozen, right, what happens when that doesn't go as far as he needs? huge rise is taxes?
no prescription charges? again, as above

what are we going to do for a healthcare system? will there still be an NHS? whats going to pay for it? since there's no prescription charges and tax freezes? or will one have to be set up again?
a currency? the Euro?! really?!
defence and military? he made such a fuss about the RAF bases closing up here, are westminster going to keep them here after independace? i doubt it. besides, and scottish soldiers will be paid by westminter, not scotland. where will any taxes go there? (do soldiers pay tax? i don't know)
immigration and border control? setting that up won't be cheap.
what about a DVLA, that'll need set up too surely?

as i said, these are just things i'm thinking, i've not heard any real answers to any of this yet, but then i'm not sure of the back ground on it, if it is an issue

salmond definietly knows how to butter up the voters right enough, and blow smoke up their bottoms, the same smoke used in his smoke and mirrors don't trust him in the slightest, any interview i've seen of him he's very childish, taking cheap shots at his critics. i think he's a horrible man. remember that time he slagged some westminster MP, and everyone was calling for him to make an appology, all he did was stand up and said, 'er, naw'

what this country needs (as in the UK) is to be stronger together, not causing disruption and seperation

Thing is, he has a direct answer for absolutely every question on the subject of Scottish independence. I've never seen him 'lose' a debate on the subject... he always makes the other party look like they haven't a clue.

I'm not qualified to add an opinion living (well) south of the border.
However, and observation in light of the above:

I think you are underestimating Dave. If by any chance Scotland vote in favour of independance, Labour become a spent force in English politics due to the spread of Tory and Labour MPs in England and Scotland.

So either Dave wins his fight with Salmond or the Tories get elected for ever in England.

As good a reason as any to stay with the union!

As for one on one I dont doubt Alex at least appears able to argue his case better but Dave will have as good a team behind him as possible to help counter that.

I dont want the split, I may be English & some would say as such I dont have any say but I live within sight of Scotland & work in agriculture with many customers both sides of the border. Some of them farm both sides of it & the difference in regulations now is not easy to work with let alone if they had totally seperate goverments!
