GOT YOU COVERED
GOT YOU COVERED
Aug 18 2004
SCOTS drivers are among those testing a gadget which could revolutionise car insurance.
A satellite tracker in the car records where and when they are driving and their premium calculated monthly on the data.
Motorway trips will be cheaper per mile because they have lower crash rates, while journeys in town in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday will
bemore expensive .
Insurers Norwich Union are pioneering the pay-as-you-drive scheme.
Robert Davidson, 64, of Milnathort, Kinross, is one of 175 Scottish drivers taking part.
He hopes he'll save money because he drives just 26 miles aday to and from work in Perth.
You can hear www. insurance co.uk weasling out of a payout.
Sorry sir you are not covered for this crash cause you were 0000.1 mph over the speed limit when the car crashed into you. We have calculated that you
would have been ten meters further down the road had you travelled at the correct speed. The accident would not have taken place!
Another freedom eroded.......

My wife got an invitation to join the pilot scheme. Nice incentive of 25% off per year during the ttrial and no increase in premiums.
She will not be taking part though - way to big brother like. I was tempted though just to see how easy it would be to disable the device and throw
the satellite tracking trials out a bit

That would be handy for me at the mo, been away for four months and the car's just sat on the drive, fully insured, and costing me a bomb.

And then they would be working hand in hand with the government and saving them the cost of all those speed cameras.
If i had one fitted i think i would be tempted to leave it at home or else put a tin box around it.

Apparently you only need tin foil over the aerial.
