Orange - Mobile Internet
Got my new iphone just before Christmas, and my first bill has just come in.
Its the 36 contract, 300 minutes, umpteen texts and 1gb of internet 3g
Bill dated the 22/01/2012, and according to Orange between the 22nd & 27th I have used 850mb of my 1gb allowance.
Now I know this is complete crap, as while at home Im on wifi, and likewise at work. I rarely use 3g
When I rang Orange they shrugged their shoulders, passed me between departments, and suggested I download the data man app to monitor my usage.
Amazingly in the past four days with this app running, I have only used 4mb, but managed to use 850mb in 5 days prior to complaining.
I had gone over my allowance, and subsequently been charged another £3 on my bill
Has anyone else had similar with Orange ?

Had a bill from 3 for 3g roaming last time I went to France that was steep, the only thing I could put it down to was the inbuilt weather app on an
iphone4 so make sure you turn off data roaming when leaving the country. Pressing the home button once doesnt close the app it just runs in the
background. So make sure you shut down tinterweb and other apps properly by double pressing the home button, on the bottom of your screen all the apps
which are running in the background will be displayed, press and hold your finger on one of the apps then close each one of them by touching the red
shutdown sign on each one.
Cheers,
Bob

Make sure automatic updates are turned of for most if not all of your apps some apps seem to update almost weekly which I strongly suspect is
more due to with advert income than software improvements.

With PAYG when going abroad I buy packages of roaming credit and roaming internet access in advance.

Surely it must be impossible to use that much data on an orange plan, you can't ever get signal!!
