WTD. Howdens account holder

Guys,
I am looking to get a price on an item from Howdens but I do not have an account.

The item I am after a price on is

Does anyone on here have an account and they could enquire on my behalf with my local Howdens (Telford) on 01952 299682Cooker hood

I wouldn't be expecting anyone to buy it for me, purely to get a price then if it is a competitive price then I will accost a local builder, pay him for it in the carpark and drop him a tenner for his troubles!

I could do with knowing, Price and how long it would be before they could have one in stock in Telford.

Many thanks
Colin

Have you spoken to Jon Ison? He sells hoods IIRC.

The rangemaster is a cracking hood IMHO, very well designed and easy to fit!

I avoid Howdens because of their stupid price lists and false discounts.

You know, when they give a ridiculous list price and then offer anyone a discount of 60% or more. The list price on a kitchen drawer unit can be £700, with maybe 75% off to trade. It just bugs me, i call it 'bullshit britain'.

If jon doesnt do 110cms hoods, fair enough! You'll find ebay has a pretty good price because anyone who can get them at a rock bottom price can advertise them at a modest profit, and only buy them when it sells.

Have a look at: http://www.domestic-appliance.com/Site/Welcome.html

This is a firm called Built In Kitchen Appliances Ltd, in Belmont Road, Liverpool.
I have bought kit off them for over 14 years. They are very inexpensive for good quality kit. I got Baumatic gear for less than trade.
They deliver anywhere in the UK.
Free the last time I bought anything.
They delivered my cooker hood down here for free. Next day too.
That's why I shopped there.

Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Can't help with the telford bit but I can ring tomorrow and get a price for you if you want.

As for the bullshit discounts, I had a kitchen from them at 80-85% discount (differed on the individual parts) and it came to nigh on £4k

So without the discount it would have been like £27K so that's what Joels on about, they have a bunk pricing policy

Seems to be just photos of appliances, no way to order anything! Or have I missed something?

Make sure you are sittting VERY comfortable;

I called the Telford branch of Hewdens for a price; £1323.59 list(inc VAT)

Trade, to my account: £661.80 (inc VAT)

My local branch (Bishop Auckland) just quoted me; £540.00 (inc VAT)

Madness seems to be the rule here.

Regards
Jon

Thanks for all your advice and help - over and above the call of duty as normal.

I spoke to Jon, (slingshot) this morning and he gave me the prices, it's a bit of a cop out really with all the RRP and trade discount etc.

I have found it at £345 online somewhere so I will make enquiries down that route first, then if that fails I will be off to Currys.

Many thanks again
Colin
