Wiring a fridge compressor....

Can anyone assist in wiring a fridge compressor (for use as air compressor)

It's a Tecumseh THB1335YS, and has the following instructions...

There is nothing attached to the Live terminal?! It looks like you'd normally connect that via some sort of switch/fuse setup and I could just feed the live, but not sure on any start caps required?

Many Thanks!

Put your live wire direct onto connection number 1 there is normally a wire from L to the thermostat and the stat return goes to number 1 the cap is handled by the start relay plugged onto the compressor.

Bob

Sounds good, so the plastic part it all plugs into before it goes to the motor the terminals is the starter that just swaps out the start and run coils?

Many Thanks,

James

Yep its a start relay, the round thing is a klixon, cuts out on overheat/current. CFM is low on a fridge compressor it'll be ok for an airbrush or something like that but fit an oil trap.
Cheers,
Bob

It's for air blast and oil spray chip clearance on a CNC, a few people have got acceptable results with this route so fingers crossed

I don't see the round item on the diagram fitted, reckon that fits in the circular pocket?

James
