Aluminium heatsinks
Been looking high and low for a good source of cheap large aluminium heatsinks. Something like the link below but much cheaper as I need quite a few.
Anyone got anything kicking around/know of something I can recycle them off/ cheap supplier of large sections of it?

Pretty good price for something that size, you'll be looking for scrap electronics places if you have any chance of getting cheaper, but I doubt
it!

Try an ally extruders. They wi sell you a dirty great lengyh and you can chop it up. Wont be 'finished' or anodised though, guess it
depends if they are going to be on show

as long as i can hide my electronics behind it then shape isnt 100% important but the end result will be on show so it needs the potential to end up
looking nice with a bit of work. I have facilities to machine and finish stuff but lumps of solid ali are pretty expensive these days, if it comes to
it that is what i will do..
as for what im making. X2 100w solid state class A push pull balanced mono block amps and matched pre amp unit. if you know your stuff when it comes
to audio you know 100watts of class A will need to dissipate a mega amount of heat and my plan is to do it passively so there is no background noise
from fans etc. the electronic components and transformers i need are costing me the best part of a third world countries national debt so if i can
make a small saving somewhere i can at least feel a little bit better about what i am spending :-)

a DIY Krell then .... going by the size of heatsinks they use, you are going to need something pretty substantial.
