Ariel Atom on Driven
Sorry this is only relevant to U.K. but I just watched Driven ( channel 5 ) and two blokes drove an Ariel Atom four hundred miles to say thank you to
the designer and during the drive they had to park up at night because they had opted not to fit headlights as a weight saving. How did it get through
S.V.A.? I also noticed a lack of body panels on the sides which I would be loath to do without living in a semi-rural area .

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Bikes and cars can be registered with no lights (except brakes lights I think) although obviously once visibility drops you have to pull over. My mate
had a bike with no lights (ex-racer) and it was mentioned on the log book that it was light-less.
Strange how the powers that be in Brussels haven't cottoned on yet and stopped it...

Love is like a snowmobile, speeding across the frozen tundra.
Which suddenly flips, pinning you underneath.
At night the ice-weasels come...

The legislation is designed to allow the trails riders to do the road sections of the trails without having a shedload of electrical equipment to
their ultra lightweight trials bikes. Dont think they'll be withdrawring it anytime soon
The regulations are you have to have a brake light, plus a horn. And you cant have any lighting equipment fitted that doesnt function (ie you cant use
it to blag round a blown headlight bulb). The MOT is under a special Daytime Use Only category.

Ariel on Atom
Actually the TV thing was a put up job and they didn't stay overnight in a tent! (don't believe everything you see on the telly). But they did do
the journey. Lights are actually under the bonnet on the Atom and you put them on when it gets dark. All legal and above board and goes through SVA.
I know I've got one! Not as windy as it looks but then if you're 'ard enough.....
