Who Was Tom Nevard? Bit of a long shot.

Might seem an odd question but It's been bothering me for the best part of a year and as I think he's got to be an engineer maybe someone on here has some kind of clue.

What do I know currently? Well all I can conclude is he is dead as he has a memorial competition once a year in Glasgow, as such I'd guess he's somehow linked to the City.

It's not important but I am really curious.
