Aussie Pink Floyd

Apologies for another non-car thread, but I went to see these guys play in Guildford last week. If you're a Floyd fan, I would highly recommend the show. They've been at it for a long time and IMHO are equals to Floyd themselves. So much so that Gilmour booked them to play at his birthday party.

Looks good, we have seen Think floyd & the ukpfe - both were pretty good for relatively small groups.

My 14 year old son has been to 4 or 5 gigs now, a great way to get him used to seeing live bands & hes been brought up on floyd as I was, my dads a big floyd fan.

Seen them three times, fantastic every time. (I've also seen the original (minus Waters) twice ).

Wouldn't hesitate to go to another of their gigs.

If your a floyd fan ide recommend brit floyd
Set up about 3 years ago from members of oz floyd and some seasoned session players
I play and so am critical of other players, they are faultless
PF allows them to use some of the graphics and sound effects between songs
They also chose the set list for the last tour ( which was a 3 hour show - 1 side of 5 classic albums in their entirety )
They only play large venues so you get the full effect of the light show
Check them out on youtube
Having said that i saw waters wall at wembley - epic

Seen them many, many times, since they first started. Saw them in Nantes a couple of weeks ago.

They are not as good as they were, but still good. They seem to get muddled up with the sound of some songs, especially 'Keep Talking'.

Britfloyd are good too.

The new ones are Echoes. They are a German band, musically better than Ozzie and Brit Floyd, with less people. Their one backing singer does 'Gig on the Sky' the best I have ever heard.

Saw Roger Water's 'Wall' in Dusseldorf last year. It was his birthday and 85,000 people sang happy birthday to him. Outstanding!

I saw the Aussie Floyd last year. Excellent, i would see them again without hesitation.

On the subject of prog rock tribute bands I'm seeing early Genesis tribute band the Watch in a few days.

If you are into the slightly heavier side I could really recommend Hats Off to Led Zeppelin if you get a chance to see them. Unbelievably close to the original across the whole range of LZ material.

How weird
I was just looking at a gig guide and saw the zep band
Hadnt heard of them before - fred zep seems to be the one people go on about
Its the vocals i worry about with a zep tribute - how can they possibly do plant !!
Another top tribute is Talon - eagles tribute - well worth a look if you need an eagles fix
Especially when ive just paid £150 a ticket for the real ones
I thought waters was expensive :-/
