Cycle ride to Paris

Just back from cycling to Paris

Four of us who met when we were 7 all turned 40 this year. To mark the occasion we decided to cycle from Guildford to Paris.

Day 1 - 55 miles from Guildford along the Downs Link (disused railway line) to Newhaven

Day 2 - Ferry to Dieppe followed by 35 miles along the Avenue Verte (disused railway line) to Forges les Eaux

Day 3 - 65 miles from Forges to Boisemont (amazing B&B with great hospitality at the local Fete)

Day 4 - 35 miles into Paris to the Eiffel Tower, 4 beers @ €32 under the tower, cycle across Paris to the Gare du Nord, Eurostar back to St Pancras, nice dinner at the Parcel Yard pub, cycle to Waterloo, train to Guildford, cycle to mates house then in the car and home at 1am this morning

Nah, this is what you want to do :-

A friend of mine was doing it until she fell off her bike and broke her collar bone She had done >2000 miles in under 9 days though.

Regards,
Dave

Bloody excellent that, well done to all of you

If you'd got a bit faster, for a bit longer each day, you could've gone there and back
