Problems with Samsung s3 after update
Hi all.
I'm sitting here with steam coming out of my ears! I made the foolish mistake of allowing an update for my phone, which is just over 2 years old
and was working fine (you can see where this is going already...)
Basically it bricked my phone. It turns on and gets stuck at the logo screen. I've been into the recovery menu and tried clearing the cache,
even did a factory reset, to no avail.
Has anyone been here or got any ideas? I literally can't believe they bust it.
Cheers!

There has been a lot who have fallen foul of the update (lollipop) and many have recovered ok.
I was offer it on Kies, but didn't do it. Eventually I was also offered it and had it down load to my phone automatically,
and was only given the option to postpone for up to 3 hours. This meant, I was going to get it anyway. So I connected
to my pc and downloaded it through Kies and installed from there. Took 20 minutes to complete and I have had no
problems at all, that was 2 weeks ago. The phone (S4) seems better if anything. The version I have is 5.0.1
There is lots of knowledge about this problem on the Samsung Galaxy S forum, so I would head there.

My nexus 7 2012 is pants after the upgrade. Slow, unstable and the app to access my WiFi IP camera doesn't work at all wish I had said no.

The Android update ver 5.0.0 seems to be causing various problems throughout the samsung range.
The forum I have mentioned has lots of techies, and have lots of advice. For some it's just a case of changing
a few details in the phone settings and success. It seems different people got different problems, so a bit of
reading and a few questions should see you ok. Good luck.
Before I upgraded I did a full backup using Kies, making sure my contacts, photos and music were safe.

It caused me major problems on a 2012 Nexus 7 thankfully almost all the bugs fixed now but still not as good as smooth running as previous version.

Cheers guys. I'm now sat in Costa Coffee waiting for it to be wiped and reloaded at carphonewarehouse. Can't believe that one poo update
can lose everything.
For future reference, how do you backup your phone? I've got a Samsung tablet too, and the wife an s5, so really need to get this sorted! To
laptop or backup to the Web?
Cheers.

I have an old-model Nexus 7, and that was rubbish after the upgrade. I got so fed up after a while that I did a factory reset and reloaded all the
apps afterwards - took quite a while, but the result was that it worked far better. Still not quite as good as KitKat, but certainly usable.

I have been using Samsung Kies, takes a bit of getting 'used to' but works ok. Download it from your browser.
