SAR - is my understanding correct?
sorry for starting a new topic - related to Very OT - salary dispute - but want to be sure I understand this (I'm a techie so numbers and tech
jargon are fine; legalese goes into my head, rattles round and not much happens).
Regarding making a subject access request - I understand I can ask my employer for salary details, but have come across this.
quote:
What are the exemptions from notification?
Most organisations that process personal data must notify the ICO of certain details about that processing. However, the Act provides exemptions from
notification for:
organisations that process personal data only for:
staff administration (including payroll);

re: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-data-protection/exemptions/
That is saying my employers does not need to notify ICO, yes? So I can send SAR to get my salary details and they should supply details.

Yes you are right, but it would not be your problem if they did have to notify ICO they would still have to give you the info about yourself.
