Silicone sealant?
Right... here's a random question for the locostbuilders posse...
I have to replace the seal around the bottom of my shower tray - not a hard job, just a bit of a faff, but I can't work out the best sealant to
buy. I've looked at a few products, but some of the negative reviews are a bit grim. I have never had much success with acrylic sealants, so
it probably has to be silicone.
So - can anyone recommend a good brand of white silicone sealant? I don't mind paying the price if it really is good stuff, as I don't
want to be going back and doing it again in 6 months time.

Polyurethane based sealer?
Good excuse to buy (and use) a tube...
Whatever is left on the tube will go off sooner than later, so it´s better to have several jobs ready before opening.
Beware of what you wish.. for it may come true....

That is so true - I buy this stuff, use what I need, and try my best to seal the tube... and next time I look I have a cylinder of solid sealant.
I might have a go at making some of these on my 3D printer - but I bet they still won't
help.

We use this one at work everyday of the week and wouldn't use anything else (NHS Maintenance)

I've previously used a product called CT1, but think they've recently released a new version called BT1 that is similar in terms of
mould/fungus resistance. Not there cheapest, but I've never had any issues with it.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity!

I fit bathrooms for a living and highly recommend the Dow 785 silicone. Most others will go mouldy fairly quickly.
However all silicones will tarnish over time so best to use a good mould and mildew spray regularly in the shower area. This will
extend the life of any silicone you use.
