Lucky or what!!
Guys,
Just had to share a bit of good fortune with people who might appreciate it.
Having already welded in my Sierra gearbox mountings (but not engine mountings), then having a change of plan to R V8, and having subsequently mounted
engine (but not box), so it came to be on Saturday that g/box mountings would need to be sorted out.
Removed and blasted bolt, and g/box rubber mount from type 9.
Surprise number 1 - bolt fitted in LT77.
Surprise number 2 - fitted Sierra rubber on original chassis mounting. Look through bolt hole - lines up perfectly with LT77 hole.
Unbelievable. No measurements taken - pure luck. Still on a high three days later.
Did have to make a spacer so g/box at right height, but that took at least 10 mins!!
All the best for the New Year chaps.
Simon

Somewhere in your youth or childhood, there must have been something good (that's a quote too!)

Ian,
Chassis is basically as book, but 4" wider, with my variation of the Tiger Avon IRS mountings, and homemade (rear) wishbones/uprights.
John - Yeah, the Christmas I got my Rubiks Cube. A present I actually wanted!!
