Which movie making/editing software?

Hi All

What do you lot reccomend for cheap movie editing software so i can cut and add text, effects and music to movies i make from my digital camera?

Windows movie maker will do all you need if its that simple.

And its freeeee (if you have windows )

Make sure you get version 2.1 and you are away. You can update it on the microsoft website:

Windows Movie Maker.

Included in WinXP, free upgrades (worth getting) from the MS website. Does the job and it's free.

I stopped using it because I also had a copy of Ulead Video Studio bundled with my PC. Which is better in almost every regard but quite expensive if you actually had to buy it I believe.

Incidentally I still use WMM to produce the final output file, it's got quite a good tool for tuning the quality to meet a particular file size. Basically I output a full quality avi (huge file) from Ulead and then open it up in WMM and convert to a sensible file size.

I got software with my Canon camcorder. Didn't you get any with yours?

Thanks chaps, totally forgot about Movie maker, i'll give it a spin.

Yes i did get some software with my camera but unlike the camera, the softwares pretty crap.
